Fiano comes from the Lacey vineyard in the Tatachilla sub region of southern McLaren Vale. Only a few kilometres from the sea and almost at sea level, it is a cool maritime influenced area of the Vale. Sandy loam over a limestone base, scattered with ironstone fragments. Grapes were machine harvested using a selectiv® harvester that destems as it picks delivering whole berries to the winery, that were tipped straight into a press. Cool slow tank fermentation was carried out for the majority of the juice, while pressings were wild fermented in seasoned oak and blended back. No acid additions.
