Established in 1779, Bowmore was Islay’s first distillery, and is known for producing a medium peated Islay malt. Launched to replace the 17 Year Old, this 18 Year Old single malt whisky has spent time in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks. A nose of tar, smoke, smoked fish and seaside air. The palate is fruity (think stewed and dried), some hints of coal smoke and smoked kippers. The finish is long of peat, smoke and fruit. Enjoy neat.
